Thank you Lord so much for keeping my family safe.

We could not contact them yesterday but we were finally able to talk to them earlier. We were so worried because one of the hardest hit places (Cainta) is the town beside Taytay. Thank God it was not super bad in Taytay. I mean, there was flood, probably the worst flood ever in Taytay, but thankfully, not as bad as what I saw on TV. It's heartbreaking to see the victims of the typhoon and the flood. It's also sad to see familiar roads that we take going to and from Taytay filled with flood.

Thankfully, everyone in our house is okay. Our things are okay. God is so good.

I hope all my friends are okay.

I am praying for everyone affected by the flood.

God bless the Philippines.

Hello blog! Sorry I haven't posted for a few days already. I had a lot of things that I wanted to write about but I never got to because I was always so sleepy. I've been super busy the past few days. I'm glad I got to post again. :)

I heard Too Close on the radio. I remembered ballroom dancing back in 3rd year HS. Awwww love it!!
Yesterday, I saw someone wear pajamas to school. Lol. How hard is it to put on jeans, really?

First exam tomorrow for Business Law. Have to study now...
Thank God my professor extended the deadline for our online quizzes!! I was so nervous because the website was down earlier. When I was finally able to log in, there was an email saying the deadline was extended because of the technical problems. Yehey!! :)

I saw the dog that came near my sister and me before again. It was walking on the street outside its house without its owners!!! Thank God I was driving when I saw it. If I was walking and the owners weren't there, I don't know what would've happened. Why did the owners let the dog go out of the house anyway?
My supposedly 1-hour nap turned into an 8-hour sleep!

I "baked" my first no-bake cheesecake today with some help from Frost (the first one we had before was made by Frost). :) I bought the wrong flavor though. I got the cherry topping instead of the strawberry one.
Loving the new apps on my phone. :)

After school, Frost and I went to eat at a buffet. An old couple (they were probably around 70 years old) sat at the table across from us. In a buffet, you would get the food yourself, right? I noticed that the wife was just sitting there, so I thought her husband just went to get something and she was just waiting for him so they could get their food together. When we were about to leave, we saw the husband getting two bowls of soup. I realized that he was getting food for his wife, and I just couldn't help but tell Frost that the husband was so sweet. Frost said he heard the husband ask his wife what kind of soup she wanted.

Who would do that? He was still serving his wife even in his old age, and in a place where the wife could very well get it herself (although she is old too). Awwwww super sweet!!!
9-9-09 today!

The Beatles Rock Band came out today, and I really, really want one! Hey Jude, anyone?

I also want the new iPod nano with video camera and FM radio!

All these wants, all these wants...

A fortune cookie without a fortune inside?!
Happy Birthday Mama Mary!

Monday, September 7, 2009

I heard a male version of Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" earlier. My sister and I liked it. I searched on Youtube and found out that The Killers has a version of the song.

I think it's the one I heard earlier. I like their version better than Miley's because the beat is so easy on the ears (it makes you feel good) and Brandon's (the vocalist, lol we're close) voice is nice, although Miley's version is also okay.

I did a little more research and found out that The Killers started here in Las Vegas. Cool!

No classes tomorrow because it's Labor Day. Yey!!!
Fried okra is actually good! Frost cooked it for dinner, and I was surprised to know that it is a classic Southern dish. It's good to give to kids who don't like vegetables because they wouldn't be able to know that they are actually eating a vegetable.

My sister and I went to the mall to take advantage of all the sales. Labor Day weekend = big sales!
It was so busy at work yesterday! We were shorthanded, so they asked me to stay longer than my scheduled work hours (5 hours). I didn't want to, but my friend told the manager that I would stay (so we could work together) before I could say no. The ending? I worked for 9 hours!! But it was okay. It was fun anyway. Plus, more hours means more money, hahaha!

Funny story at work: a customer asked me where Sarah is. The music was so loud in the store, so I thought she was asking where the store Zara is. So I was like, "Go downstairs, then turn right." And then she kinda smiled, and said, "No, I'm looking for the manager Sarah." I laughed and I was like, "Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you were asking about Zara, the store." Hahaha so embarrassing!!

I love the new pictures of Bea and Ben! They are the cutest babies ever!!!
I'm so happy I was able to see (via webcam) and talk to Bea and Ben just now!!

I can't believe that Ben is already 2 months old! I was still there when he was born.

I love that Bea knows me. She calls me Yayi since she can't say auntie yet. :)

I miss them so much! I miss my Dad, Kuya, and Ate Che too!

I ate karioka (you know, that sweet, chewy, round-shaped snack on a stick) from Goldilocks and I just remembered eating karioka in the Ateneo caf during my visit there last July. Awww...
It's the 2nd time in a span of 1 week that someone asked me if I was Thai. A Chinese woman (this time from a Japanese restaurant) asked me if I was Thai or Filipino. At least she almost got it right.

My mom bought a DVD of Michael Jackson's concert in Bucharest. It was for his Dangerous Tour. She said this concert was being shown on TVs in Fry's, and she was amazed at how good he was and she wanted to watch the whole concert so she immediately bought the DVD. Haha!

We just finished watching it and all we can say was wow! He's really really good!

Michael Jackson was truly a talented performer. His voice was amazing, and his dance moves were just stunning. His dance moves would just leave you speechless. When I saw him do his moonwalk, I told my sister that how he did it was so different from his impersonators. He did it so smoothly and gracefully. I think no other person could do it like Michael.

There were a lot of people in the concert, probably around 100,000. There were people who fainted so they had to be pulled out of the crowd, and a lot of the fans were crying. After seeing the moonwalk, I told my mom that I may have probably cried too if I saw him do it live. Lol!

My favorite part was when he sang one of my favorite songs, Heal the World. A lot of people were crying during that part. I may have cried too if I was there. I love that song because the message, the lyrics, the melody, and MJ's voice were all perfect. I just wish he sang this song live in the concert, since this is not really a fast song. It seemed like he was lip-syncing in some songs, which was understandable because he had to dance. But there were also fast songs he sang live.

This concert took place in 1992. You'd think it wasn't that hi-tech during that time, but I was amazed that a part of the concert stage can be lifted. I noticed one difference between concerts in the 90s and concerts now. In concerts today, all you could see if you looked at the crowd would be their cameras and cellphones. In that concert, you would not see a single cellphone screen (of course, since the cellphones before didn't have cameras yet) or even a camera. All they raised were their hands or their lighters.

I want to experience that kind of concert, with thousands of people (although it can be scary, I think) in a stadium, and a performer so good he/she will make you cry.

I wish I had the chance to watch Michael Jackson (may he rest in peace) live in concert.
I can't believe it's September already! "Ber" months are here = Christmas is fast approaching. I'm excited!! :)
